Flesh vs Spirit

I remember seeing people come to church and in a couple weeks they would “throw their hands up” and say “forget it! Who can live this life?” I was one of those people also; in and out, never stable and secure in the “faith” I was taught.

One reason is due to an identity crisis. Many don’t even know what happened at the born again experience. Many are oblivious to the fact that the spirit is the part that was changed. That’s a reason many are not stable in the faith. Another reason is because most teach perfection in the flesh. Jesus said, “It’s the spirit that gives life the flesh profits nothing.”

When you’re taught to focus on the flesh you will always set yourself up for failure. Paul said in 1 Cor 15 that flesh and blood can’t enter the kingdom of God. With that said, we relate to God in spirit and truth; not flesh and fake.

Jesus said that those who worship God must do so in spirit and truth. It’s interesting that the “church” is still, like the Pharisees, trying to relate in the flesh. Paul said in Romans 8:7, ” the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” In modern words it simply means our flesh is opposed to God’s holiness and will never submit to God’s standards.

When you were born again, your spirit, on the inside of you, is what changed; not your flesh. Your flesh is born after Adam. That’s why Jesus told Nicodemus, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.” Then Jesus said this to him elementary style, “The wind blows where it wants, and you hear the sound of it, but you cannot tell where it comes from, and where it goes: SO IS every one that is born of the spirit.” Notice Jesus said the born again experience is like the wind that you can’t see physically, you know it’s there, but can’t see it.

The born again experience happens on the inside. It’s your spirit that changed, not your flesh. Ever wondered how we can enter boldly the throne of GRACE? You definitely can’t enter with your flesh; it has to be your spirit. Your born again spirit became just like Jesus is right now (1 John 4:17). God can only relate to you through your spirit.

When the “church” gets this revelation then you won’t have to ask people to come to your meetings, they will be in love with the Father and see the real Jesus; you won’t be able to keep them away.
